2010 Morgan Aero Supersports

The 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show has many high dollar automobiles on display but nothing says exotic quite like this Morgan. Despite the fact that the average Joe has never heard of Morgan, the company has been building cars for 100 years. The Morgan Aero Supersports is a celebration of that history.

The Aero is lightweight yet strong thanks to a frame built from aluminum and ash wood - yes, I said wood. With a 4.8 liter BMW V8 that makes 372 hp, the car rockets from a dead stop to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. So in less time than it took you to read this sentence, the 2010 Morgan Aero Supersports would have already hit highways speed in most states.

Only 200 of these cars will be built and the deposit alone is more than most folks spend on a typical new car. After you've reserved your Morgan with a $37,000 deposit, you'll still have to kick in another $150,000 to drive it home. Each car is hand built and the waiting time can be more than a year. Silly? Sure, for some but isn't that what auto shows are for - if you're gonna dream, dream big.
