2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost

At the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show, Rolls-Royce showed its new Ghost model. It's a little more subtle than the all-out Phantom but light years from a run of the mill luxury car like, say a Lexus. The car pictured is a technically a concept but the production car will look a lot like this.

The Ghost is powered by a new 6.6 liter turbocharged V12 and it makes 563hp. 0-60 comes up in less than five seconds and the air suspension system essentially means the Ghost rides on a cushion of air.

Interior features include a 600 watt, 16-speaker audio system including a 12.5g hard drive for storing music from CDs or USB memory stick. Rear doors open rearward in the old "suicide" fashion although Rolls-Royce doesn't like that term. If a full day of shopping has you too tired to close your own doors, you're in luck. At the press of a button, the rear doors will close themselves.

Teflon coated umbrellas are stored inside the front doors and the hand stitched leather can be ordered in pretty any color you can think of. Like other Rollers, this one is hand built and the price of entry in the Rolls-Royce club is not cheap. Base price is about $245,000. Better start working overtime shifts now to save up.
