2010 Dodge Journet R/T
Dodge's 2010 Journey is hard to categorize. It looks thoroughly American outside but has a European look inside. It has minivan functionality but without the sloppy handling and excessive body roll. Not a full size SUV yet taller and more spacious than a sedan, the Dodge Journey R/T should work well for a wide range of buyers. Families will love the built in second row booster seats and optional Sirius Backseat TV that allows passengers to watch kid friendly television. Those who need a little extra utility will really like the under floor storage, dual opening glove box, under front seat storage and fold flat second and third row seats.
The R/T gets a few cosmetic upgrades over the lower priced models and a 3.5 liter V6 is standard on the R/T. 0-60 comes up in 8 seconds which is pretty good for a vehicle with this much people and/or cargo hauling ability. The Journey comes in front or all-wheel drive configurations. There are also a ton of tech options like MyGig infotainment system, rear parking camera, navigation, Uconnect hands free phone system and an LED interior lighting system.
While the 2010 Dodge Journey R/T is a great minivan alternative, it does have a few drawbacks. The EPA estimates just 23 mpg highway for the R/T and the third row seating is cramped at best. Still, the Journey's flexibility and aggressive good looks are enough to warrant at least a test drive by anyone shopping for a family friendly truck or van.
