2010 Chicago Auto Show - Chrysler Delta Concept
If this is what Chrysler is thinking for the future of the brand, they better re-think it. This concept is basically a Lancia Delta. Lancia is related to Fiat so it only makes sense the Italian automaker would try to maximize its reach through the existing chain of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealerships.
Certainly, Chrysler and Fiat are trying to figure out how to Americanize Fiat and Lancia vehicles but we hope this isn't one of those. In fact, this concept vehicle is little more than a Lancia Delta with a Chrysler grille - Don't do it, Fiat! That kind of thing is exactly what sunk US brands like DeSoto, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Saturn. We've seen badge engineering and it doesn't work. Fiat, please look to Ford for an example of how to platform share the proper way. Ford Flex > Lincoln MKT - mechanically similar but not look alikes - Brian Moody
