2011 Hyundai Sonata

The surprise hit of the 2009 LA Auto Show has to be the all new Hyundai Sonata. Last month, Harry had a guest from Hyundai on to talk about the new Elantra. Miles Johnson, a Hyundai representative promised a radical new Sonata to come but I don't think anyone really believed him.

Turns out, it wasn't just PR spin. The new Sonata looks amazing. While the car looks like a 30-40,000 dollar car the actual price starts at just $20,000. The Sonata will no longer have the option of a V6, all cars will be powered by a 4 cyl engine - a turbo model that comes later will make V6 like power (about 250hp).

This is Hyundai's third homerun in a row and it comes at a time when other automakers are still struggling. How's this for a fun fact, the Hyundai booth at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show was on the spot Nissan used to occupy. Nissan bowed out of the LA show this year. Hmmmm...
