2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid

After having driven three all new gas/electric hybrids, I have to say the Ford Fusion Hybrid is the best. Both the Honda Insight and Toyota Prius are decent but for different reasons. Want to save money, get the Honda. Want the most MPG bang for your buck, get the Prius. But if you want a car that looks good, has a large useful interior and lacks that odd, disconnected hybrid feeling - get the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. It's clearly the best car for anyone who thinks driving is fun and not just a chore.

After a week of driving, I averaged about 38 MPG - roughly 10 to 12 miles per gallon behind the Prius. Although the Fusion feels like a lot more car than other hybrids, it's priced right in line with a typical, well-equipped family sedan. Lots of features are standard but major options include leather seating, a voice activated navigation system, rear view parking camera, Ford's Sync system and a blind spot detection system. Throw these worthwhile options in and you're looking at $30,000 car. That's about the same as a similarly equipped Prius yet the Fusion Hybrid is a lot more car. It is, hands down the best hybrid on the market.
